There is an amazing BIOPARK in Fuengirola full of animals transported from distant parts of the world; Madagascar Island, Equatorial Africa, Indo Pacific and South East Asia. We had seen photos from friends who had been there and they looked awesome so we decided to go and see for ourselves.
This place is absolutely incredible. The owners have recreated a natural environment, with vegetation similar to that where animals existed in their natural habitat before capture. This is one place where you have to make sure you have your camera at the ready for that unexpected shot. The park is more like a tropical forest with a multitude of different species of animals coexisting with one another as they would in nature. There are Komodo Dragons, Crocodiles, Orang-utans, Gorillas, Sumatra tigers, Lemurs, Chimpanzees, and lots more. Many are an endangered species. In point of fact you get a much more real image of their natural surroundings and it is well worth a visit.
We had refreshment in the cafeteria but found the food a bit on the expensive side. When you exit, you will pass through a large souvenir shop where you may wish to buy a small memento to remind you of your visit. Entrance fee to the park is 20€ and free for children under 3 years of age.
Have you been to BIOPARC? What was your favourite part?
